Sucralfate Chewable Tablets

[Indications] Sucralfate chewable tablets form a protective barrier over ulcerated gastrointestinal mucosa and are indicated for the short-term treatment of active duodenal ulcer for up to 8 weeks, for maintenance therapy after ulcer healing, and for chronic gastritis and reflux-related mucosal damage.

[Usage and dosage] Chew the tablets or disperse them in water and take on an empty stomach. For active duodenal ulcer, the usual adult dose is 1 g four times daily, one hour before meals and at bedtime, continued for 4 to 8 weeks; for maintenance therapy, 1 g twice daily is used. Antacids may be taken for pain but not within 30 minutes before or after a sucralfate dose.
