Nefopam Hydrochloride Tablets

[Indications] Nefopam hydrochloride tablets are a centrally acting non-opioid analgesic used for postoperative pain, cancer pain, and acute traumatic pain, and for pain caused by smooth-muscle spasm in acute gastritis, biliary ascariasis, and ureteric calculi.

[Usage and dosage] Administer orally. The usual adult dose is 20 to 60 mg per dose, with a total daily dose of 60 to 180 mg. Nefopam is not related to the opioid analgesics and does not depress respiration, but anticholinergic effects such as dry mouth, sweating, nausea, dizziness, and, rarely, convulsions may occur, so the dose should be increased gradually in elderly patients.
