Sodium Glycerophosphate Injection

[Indications] Sodium glycerophosphate injection is a phosphate supplement indicated for adults receiving parenteral nutrition and for the treatment of phosphate deficiency.

[Usage and dosage] Give by intravenous infusion. The usual adult dose is one 10 mL ampoule, containing 2.16 g of sodium glycerophosphate, once daily, added to a parenteral nutrition mixture or to 500 mL of glucose 5% or 10% solution or amino-acid solution and infused slowly over 4 to 6 hours. The dose is adjusted to the patient's phosphate requirement, and serum phosphate, calcium, sodium and potassium should be monitored.
