Rapid Scopolamine Tablets

[Indications] Scopolamine tablets are an antimuscarinic antispasmodic used to relieve smooth-muscle spasm and colicky pain, including gastrointestinal and biliary colic and renal or ureteric colic, and as an adjunct in organophosphate poisoning.

[Usage and dosage] Administer orally. The usual adult dose is 5 to 10 mg three times daily, and children receive 0.1 to 0.2 mg/kg three times daily. Dry mouth, blurred vision and tachycardia are expected antimuscarinic effects; the drug must not be used in patients with glaucoma, prostatic enlargement, obstructive uropathy or tachycardia associated with acute haemorrhage.
