Nicotinamide Tablets

[Indications] Nicotinamide (niacinamide) tablets are used for the prevention and treatment of pellagra caused by nicotinamide deficiency, in doses prescribed by a physician. Unlike nicotinic acid, nicotinamide does not cause vasodilatory flushing.

[Usage and dosage] Give orally with food. For the treatment of pellagra, the usual adult dose is 100 to 300 mg daily in divided doses, increased to a maximum of 500 mg daily when required. High doses should be avoided in patients with liver disease or active peptic ulcer, and blood glucose and liver enzymes should be monitored during prolonged high-dose treatment.
