Acetaminophen injection

[Indications] Paracetamol (acetaminophen) injection is indicated for the short-term treatment of moderate pain, especially after surgery, and for the short-term treatment of fever, when intravenous administration is clinically justified because oral or rectal administration is not appropriate.

[Usage and dosage] Administer by intravenous infusion over 15 minutes. For adults and adolescents weighing more than 50 kg, the usual dose is 1000 mg every 4 to 6 hours, with a maximum of 4000 mg in 24 hours, reduced to 3000 mg in 24 hours when risk factors for hepatotoxicity are present. For patients weighing 33 to 50 kg, the dose is 15 mg/kg every 4 to 6 hours, up to a maximum of 60 mg/kg per day.
