[Indications] Indocyanine green for injection is a diagnostic agent indicated for the measurement of cardiac output, hepatic function, and hepatic blood flow, and for ophthalmic (choroidal) angiography. It is also used in some countries for fluorescence imaging of the biliary tree, lymphatic vessels, and tumours.

[Usage and dosage] Reconstitute with the recommended sterile water for injection and use the solution immediately, protected from light. For hepatic function testing (plasma disappearance or retention rate), a single intravenous dose of 0.5 mg/kg is injected as a bolus, followed by venous blood sampling. For cardiac output measurement, 5 mg (or 0.25 mg/kg) is injected through the appropriate catheter. For ophthalmic angiography, 25 mg is dissolved in about 2 mL of the supplied solvent and given by rapid intravenous injection.
