[Indications] Metronidazole Tablets are indicated for the treatment of trichomoniasis, amebiasis, and serious infections caused by susceptible anaerobic bacteria, including intra-abdominal infections, skin and skin structure infections, gynecologic infections, bacterial septicemia, bone and joint infections as adjunctive therapy, central nervous system infections, lower respiratory tract infections, and endocarditis. Other indications may apply according to the specific approved product labeling.

[Usage and dosage] This product is administered orally. The recommended dosage and duration of treatment depend on the indication, the patient's clinical condition, and the applicable prescribing information. For serious anaerobic bacterial infections in adults, the usual oral dosage is 7.5 mg/kg every six hours, approximately 500 mg for a 70-kg adult. The maximum recommended daily dose is 4 g. The usual treatment duration is 7–10 days, although some infections may require longer treatment. For trichomoniasis and amebiasis, use the specific indication-based regimen in the approved prescribing information.
