Vancomycin Hydrochloride for Injection

[Indications] Vancomycin Hydrochloride for Injection is indicated for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infections in adult and pediatric patients, including septicemia, infective endocarditis, skin and skin structure infections, bone infections, and lower respiratory tract infections. Intravenous vancomycin is not effective for treating intestinal infections that require oral administration.

[Usage and dosage] Vancomycin Hydrochloride for Injection is administered by intravenous infusion after appropriate reconstitution and dilution. The labeled adult regimen includes a total daily dose of 2 g, divided as 500 mg every 6 hours or 1 g every 12 hours. Pediatric dosing depends on age and body weight. The dosage interval and total dose must be individualized according to renal function, clinical response, and appropriate monitoring. Infuse for at least 60 minutes to reduce the risk of infusion reactions.
