[Indications] Lentinus edodes (shiitake) mycelia polysaccharide tablets are an immunomodulatory preparation used in China for conditions associated with reduced immune function, as supportive treatment in chronic viral hepatitis and for liver protection, and as an adjunct during cancer chemotherapy.

[Usage and dosage] Administer orally after meals. The usual adult dose is 10 to 40 mg daily according to the strength of the product, with the dose reduced for children. Evidence of clinical benefit is limited, and the preparation is not an authorised medicine in the European Union or the United States, so it should be regarded as adjunctive treatment only.
