Glucose Sodium Chloride Injection

[Specification] 100ml: 5g glucose and 0.9g sodium chloride

                          250ml: 12.5g glucose and 2.25g sodium chloride

[Indications] Glucose and sodium chloride injection provides water, calories, and electrolytes and is indicated for the maintenance of fluid and electrolyte balance and for the supply of carbohydrate when oral intake is not possible; it is also used as a vehicle for compatible medicines.

[Usage and dosage] Administer by intravenous infusion at a rate determined by the patient's fluid, electrolyte, and calorie requirements; a common adult maintenance regimen is 500 to 1000 mL given over several hours. Blood glucose, serum sodium, and potassium must be monitored during prolonged infusion, particularly in patients with diabetes mellitus, cardiac disease, or renal impairment.
