Salbutamol Sulfate Injection
[Specification] 1 mL: 500 mg
[Indications] Salbutamol (albuterol) sulfate injection is indicated for the relief of severe bronchospasm in bronchial asthma and asthmatic bronchitis when inhaled or oral treatment is not possible or is insufficient.
[Usage and dosage] Give by slow intravenous injection, intravenous infusion, or intramuscular injection. The usual adult dose is 0.4 mg (one ampoule), diluted in 20 mL of glucose 5% or sodium chloride 0.9% solution for slow intravenous injection or in 100 mL for infusion; the intramuscular dose is 0.4 mg, which may be repeated after 4 hours if necessary. Heart rate, serum potassium, and blood glucose should be monitored because beta-2 agonists cause tachycardia, tremor, and hypokalaemia.
