Rocuronium Bromide Injection

[Indications] Rocuronium bromide injection is a non-depolarising neuromuscular blocking agent indicated as an adjunct to general anaesthesia to facilitate tracheal intubation and to provide skeletal muscle relaxation during surgery, and for use with mechanical ventilation in intensive care for a limited period only.

[Usage and dosage] Administer intravenously. The standard adult intubating dose is 0.6 mg/kg, which provides intubating conditions within about 1 to 2 minutes; higher doses of 0.9 to 1.2 mg/kg may be used for rapid sequence induction. Maintenance doses of 0.15 mg/kg are repeated as required, or an infusion of 0.3 to 0.6 mg/kg per hour is used. Neuromuscular function must be monitored and adequate reversal given at the end of surgery.
