Gadoxetine Disodium Injection (Valette)

[Specification] 10 mL: 1814.3 mg

[Indications] Gadoxetate disodium injection is a liver-specific gadolinium-based contrast agent indicated for contrast-enhanced MRI of the liver to detect and characterise focal liver lesions, including hepatocellular carcinoma and metastases, and for MRI of the biliary tree where licensed.

[Usage and dosage] Administer as a single intravenous bolus of 0.1 mL/kg body weight (0.025 mmol/kg) followed by a sodium chloride flush; imaging begins in the arterial phase and continues into the hepatobiliary phase, which is best assessed about 20 minutes after injection. The product is supplied as a ready-to-use 10 mL vial or pre-filled syringe containing 1814.3 mg of gadoxetate disodium. Renal function should be checked before use because of the risk of nephrogenic systemic fibrosis.
