[Indications] It is used for selected gastrointestinal conditions, including diabetic gastroparesis and certain cases of symptomatic GERD when other treatments are ineffective or unsuitable. Depending on the product labeling, it may also be used to facilitate small-bowel intubation or in selected diagnostic procedures.

[Usage and dosage] Administer by the labeled intravenous or intramuscular route. Dosage varies by indication, patient factors, and renal function. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest appropriate duration because metoclopramide may cause serious neurological adverse reactions, including tardive dyskinesia.
